For more than 10,000 years , after crossing 2,860 km , the Danube has been building at its river mouth into the Black Sea , one of he most beautiful delta in the world.

The Danube Delta is famous as one of the greatest wetlands of the Earth , a living museum of biodiversity , home to over 300 species of birds , 60 varieties of fish and 1,200 species of plants and trees.

More than 400 lakes of different sizes , the sand dunes , the beaches on the deltaic marine seacoast provide a great diversity and spatial variety.

The Danube Delta is included in UNESCO ’ s world heritage list.
